"A face is an important thing to protect. It's the organ in charge of sarcasm, at least in the outwardly sense of things. I'd never take that away from you," she said to him, hoping that humour will serve to impart some sense of apology.

Cautiously, she guides him over to where the car is parked, and after making sure that as much of the sand as possible was left on the ground outside, got into the driver's seat. It felt almost weird to sit in it, dressed so casually and lightly. This was probably going to attract a few looks - more so than the car itself already did.
