Spending the day at the beach with Isabelle had been one of the best days he'd had since... well since the last time he'd spent most of the day hanging out with Isabelle. But still, it was a really awesome day and he almost hated the idea of going back to school eventually since it meant they couldn't do stuff like this as much.

The entire way back to his apartment, with his hand in hers, made his stomach full of butterflies and he didn't even know why other than being with Izzy was just so great. He liked being able to lean over and bump his shoulder or hip against hers or look over and catch her smiling. Billy just really, really liked Izzy. He liked her and felt safe enough around her he thought he could probably be comfortable enough to do... things.

And he wanted to do things too. It just sorta seemed like he was at a point where having no experience with those kind of things really worked against him. That one doctor that talked about this stuff never talked about how you let the person you were with know when you wanted that stuff. She'd probably say "communication" or something was important which was great. That was like saying to fly you needed to get up in the air.

Billy already stumbled over his words around Isabelle sometimes. How they heck was he supposed to communicate that maybe if she wanted they could get naked sometime and touch each other? That sounded stupid and he was stupid and by the time he was back to his apartment the butterflies in his stomach felt 10 times worse and it wasn't from excitement. He needed to just not think about it all, at least for a bit.

That would have been easier though if Izzy wasn't so... Izzy.

"So, uh, there might be some super dangerous Downworlders or something in my apartment. You should come check it out and make sure I'm safe?" he joked while he unlocked his door. "You can even have a reward for doing it, if the Shadownhunter code allows that."

It might have been a good plan, even, if it didn't end with Billy racing for the bathroom. For a short second Isabelle stands stunned in the living room, trying to work out what just happened before it clicks into place. Oh.

She grabs a glass of water from the kitchen before she follows him, finding him leaning over the toilet. This isn't exactly how she planned on this night going, but she supposes karma is a bitch. Isabelle runs a gentle hand through his hair, figures it's the closest thing to holding it back she can do, and sets the glass by the sink when he's ready.

"This might be my fault," she admits, half a smile on her face. She'd feel worse if it wasn't a little bit funny. But she's also being cockblocked by fish tacos, and that sucks, too.

"Don't be sorry," she says, smoothing a hand through his hair. If she were Magnus she could fix this right up, but she doesn't have magic powers and she can't exactly draw runes on him, so he'll just have to ride it out. Or she could call Magnus, but she thinks it could lead to awkward explanations and maybe Billy would be embarrassed.

"You'd still be sick later though," she points out. Turning into Shazam might stop it now but it's only delaying the inevitable. "You might as well get it out now." Maybe her words are magic because he throws up again, and Isabelle leans against the doorway, considering.

"Do you want me to go? I can stay obviously, but I know some people are weird about being sick in front of people." She doesn't mind, she's certainly seen worse, but she doesn't want him feeling awkward around her, either.

Isabelle nods and perches on the rim of the bathtub. She doesn't get grossed out easily which probably comes with spending a good amount of time covered in demon blood and slime. The stink of demon blood on her clothes is the kind of thing that never seems to go away, and is definitely her least favourite part of her job. In comparison, this isn't so bad, she figures.

"Lucky for you I have a strong stomach," she says, half teasing. She does hope for his sake that it doesn't go on for too long though. If it does, she'll duck out and get something for his stomach, but she's hoping the taco's vengeance is short.

"That's sweet, but this is gonna suck for you even with me here. Sorry."

"You're not the worst boyfriend ever," she says, rolling her eyes a little. "Trust me." Isabelle has dated some assholes in her time, not the least of which had been a certain Seelie. She knows for a fact that Alec would count Billy as her best choice in boyfriends to date, and Isabelle would agree with him.

Isabelle listens to him start his sentence again and again, but it doesn't take her long to catch on. The way he trails off tells her more than anything, so does the embarrassed look on his face. "It's okay," she tells him, pressing a kiss to his temple, "there will be another time. Next time we don't eat fish tacos first, lesson learned."

"That just makes me a decent human being," she laughs, handing him the glass of water. It looks like the bout of vomiting is over at least, though she suspects his stomach will be feeling fragile for a while yet. "Or decent Nephilim, as the case may be."

"Movie we can do," she agrees, holding out a hand to help him up. "You feel like you can leave the bathroom yet?" she asks, considering. He looks better but she isn't the greatest at knowing how to handle this kind of thing. She never gets sick and nor do any of her brothers; she doesn't have much in the way of frame of reference.

"I can't believe you got food poisoning and it wasn't even my cooking. Don't tell Alec about this, he'll assume it was."

Isabelle grabs Billy's blanket and a couple of pillows from the bedroom and meets him in the living room, setting it up so that he'll be warm and comfortable. "I'll even let you pick the movie," she tells him. She's trying to be a good girlfriend, but it's also because she has no idea about mundane movies. She wouldn't even know where to start with picking one, so it's better if Billy takes the reigns.

"Only if it's not fish tacos again," she says, sitting on the couch and curling her legs up underneath her. "I might not get sick but I still have tastebuds."
