"I got caught by somebody who doesn't know where I live or even my full name," he pointed out, more to be contrary than anything else. If he thought that Alex would turn him in he would have been gone by now. Decent shoes or not he would hope that he could outrun some woman carrying a dog.

Reaching into his pocket he pulled out one of the treats he always had on hand for his own dog and tossed it at the little guy. Billy figured that he could spare one of them. He probably should have asked her if it was okay first but whatever.

"The clothes are a little big," he said, glancing at the box of clothes. "Which is good, I can grow into them. I will grow into them."

Billy was short, but he wouldn't always be short. He'd grow into the clothes.
